There may be deformation in the area under the chin, called the chin, either structurally or as a result of fat accumulation over the years, and this may cause aesthetic problems.
A detailed interview and examination is performed before the surgery. The surgery can be performed in a fully equipped hospital with regional anesthesia or complete anesthesia. If complete anesthesia is to be performed, blood tests, heart electrocardiography and lung x-ray are taken, and the approval of the anesthesiologist is obtained.
If the deformation in the patient's chin area is mild or moderate, during the surgery, a special fluid is administered through 1-2 millimeter holes under the chin and under the auricle, first to reduce bleeding and to prepare the fat, and then the excess fat is broken down and pulled out with the laser lipolysis method. If the deformation is severe, in addition to laser lipolysis, a 3-4 cm incision is made under the chin and the muscles in the jowl area are tightened. The surgery takes approximately 1 hour. During the surgery, the patient is put on a special corset that passes under the chin. The patient uses this corset for about 2 weeks. If complete anesthesia is performed, the patient is given a meal 4-6 hours after the surgery, after eating, he/she can walk and is hospitalized for a day and discharged. Patients who receive regional anesthesia can eat and drink after surgery and are discharged a few hours after surgery.
The patient must rest for a week after the surgery. After one week, the patient can work and return to normal life.
