Structurally, soft tissue volume loss may occur in some parts of the face after trauma or over the years. One of the best methods to eliminate this volume loss is to apply the fat taken from the patient to the needed area on the patient's face by passing it through special processes.
A detailed interview and examination is performed before the surgery.
The surgery can be performed with regional anesthesia or complete anesthesia. If complete anesthesia is to be performed, blood tests, heart electrocardiography and lung x-ray are taken, and the approval of the anesthesiologist is obtained.
The surgery is performed in a full-fledged hospital and takes approximately 1 hour. During the surgery, fat is extracted with the help of a special cannula by entering 1-2 mm holes in the abdominal area, and the removed fat is purified and injected into the facial area where the patient needs it with special cannulas. Since some of the fat given will melt, generally a little more fat than the required amount is given.
If regional anesthesia is applied, the patient can eat and drink immediately after the surgery and is discharged after a few hours. If complete anesthesia is made, the patient can be fed after 4-6 hours, can talk, can eat, drink and take care of himself on the same day, can walk after eating and is discharged the next day. By applying cold to the surgical area on the face for two days, swelling and bruising are reduced.
The patient can work or return to normal life after a week. Approximately 50% of the administered fat melts, and the living part remains permanent. Since the administered fat will melt away, fat filling can be done again after 3-6 months if necessary.
Since the surgery is performed with the help of thin cannulas, no incisions are made and no scars are left.
