Gynecomastia, known as breast enlargement in men, is one of the most frequently performed plastic surgeries in male patients. In the majority of patients, it has no specific cause, but in a small number of patients, the reason is the hormonal imbalance between male and female hormones. Especially in young men, breast size causes problems in social relations, lack of self-confidence and difficulties in dressing.
In gynecomastia, both breast tissue and fat tissue may increase, or in the case of pseudo-gynecomastia, only fat tissue may increase. Gynecomastia surgery is the surgery with the highest satisfaction rate, especially in young men.
There are three degrees of gynecomastia. In the first and second degrees, where the breast size and sagging is not too much, surgery is performed by liposuction by entering through tiny holes without any incisions or scars. In the third degree, where the breasts are very large and there is excess skin, the surgery is performed by making an incision all around the nipple.

Before the surgery, a detailed interview and examination is made, blood tests, heart electrocardiography and lung x-ray are taken, and the approval of the anesthesiologist is obtained. When necessary, hormone analysis and breast ultrasound are performed.
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia (full sleep) in a full-fledged hospital, the surgery takes approximately 1-2 hours, at the end of the surgery the patient is put on a special corset, eating and drinking begins 4-6 hours after the surgery, the patient can eat and take care of himself on the same day. He can use his arms enough to do the work and is discharged the next day. It is recommended to use antibiotics and painkillers for about a week.
The patient can be washed two days after the discharge date, no dressing is done, and if an incision is made and surgery is performed, no stitches are removed because dissolvable stitches are used.
A week of absolute rest is recommended, after a week the patient can start working life and daily activities, the corset is used for approximately 2-3 weeks.
